Some may say this is a stretch, but here we go....Whether you follow the NBA (National Basketball Association) or not, you probably have heard that the Golden State Warriors are a pretty good team. They have won three championships in the last 4 years, and are shooting for a 4th this year.
They have several stars, but the main consistent standout has been Kevin Durant. Many times the leading scorer in a game and able to score in various ways. Many expected him to be the main force in leading the Warriors to the NBA championship. That is until in a playoff series with the Houston Rockets, he got injured...The seriousness of the injury was not known, but it looked like he would be out for some time. Many "experts" saw this as the end to the Warriors playoffs and wrote them off. Up until this time, there were only a core group of players participating in the games. After the injury, ALL got involved. Every player got involved in the games. Many "experts" expected the Warriors to lose to Houston, ending the playoffs for them.
Instead, the team stepped it up. Steph Curry went up another level..Players that were previously sitting on the bench, were now scoring points. A slightly older slogan, "Strength in numbers", became a reality..They beat the Rockets and went ahead to beat Portland 4-0, putting them in the finals against the Toronto Raptors..Durant has not returned yet...
The Warriors came together to Live WE..They were not reliant on one player, but came together as a team. Some might say they could be better without the star. Of course, they would love to have him back as currently they are tied at 1 game each with the Raptors (6/2/19)... Living WE can have many looks ...
